In January 2009 we met an amazing group of young professionals from Australian, that have since formed an organization called YGAP. The group came to Ghana to help us with a project. At that time our vision of building the Children's Village was just a dream as we didn't have the needed land yet and we hadn't even began to raise the finances for building.
We had no idea in 2009 when we met YGAP that just two years later they would be raising tens of thousands of dollars to build our school, Faith Roots International Academy (not to mention all of the other ways they have helped us during this growing season).now here we are almost three years later and the construction project is coming to its completion! It is such a beautiful sight!
On Tuesday 220 students will be walking through the gates of Faith Roots International Academy...43 students from CORM and 177 students from the surrounding communities. Then there are the 20 teachers who have all been learning so much over the past few weeks-everything from using math manipulatives (thank you Prof John Lamb) to their individual love languages.
We are so thankful for the strategies God has given to equip the teachers with a deeper understanding of who they are in Christ...it is only when we know who we are in Christ that we can help others know who they are in Christ. This year we are seeking God for more of His presence at our school, Children's Village and within our surrounding communities.
We are so blessed to have the Agler family and Janet (our volunteer for the school year!!) here with us...they are all pouring so much into the lives of our kiddos.
...so this dream...it belongs to God. The only things we have contributed are faith and obedience...and a willingness to "go". As we stand in awe of God's faithfulness we anticipate what is to come.
