Intentional Parenting

It's Friday morning, my house is SILENT! The kids left for school two hours ago. I have a long list of things I need to get done, but I can't stop thinking about God is doing in my heart regarding my children.

Yesterday I downloaded a book to help pass the time while traveling between Kumasi and The Children's Village. I devoured it. Sarah Mae, the author, spoke directly to my heart. I know because my heart broke...it shattered.

In her book, the Unwired Mom-Choosing to Live Free in an Internet Addicted World, Sarah talks about our choices and being intentional with our children. I realized that I haven't been as intentional with my children as I would like to be...winning their hearts hasn't been my number one focus.

So I am working on changing me...my focus needs to be refocused...my intentions need to be more intentional...my mothering may even need a little mentoring...

To be this transparent and to admit to you that I haven't done such a good job at parenting is well...humbling...but it's from a position of humbleness that true and lasting change will take place. I am working to change my habits and behaviors to become a true impact on my children.

I would love to hear from you ways you win your children's hearts...what do you do to create memories with your child? Activities? Traditions? I am open to your suggestions and your prayers!

Love,
Stacy
